Iona
Germany / UK | 2015 | Feature Film | 85 min
A young woman and her teenage son flee Glasgow to find refuge from a violent crime. They travel to her birthplace and namesake, the remote island of Iona, and attempt to live in the religious community she had left behind. Iona’s return exposes her tormented son Bull to a way of life she had rejected when she left the island as a teenager. While Bull seeks forgiveness for what he has done and the fragile family tries to come to terms with her return, Iona herself must come to terms with her loss of faith.
