Synopsis
The documentary HOW HOLOCAUST CAME ON TELEVISION sheds light on the genesis and reception history of the American family saga Holocaust, which was broadcast in Germany in 1979 – a decisive media-historical event. The 4-part fictional series succeeded where numerous committed and progressive documentaries failed: the genocide of the Jews was brought into the collective consciousness.
